Wahoo! Ryder was doing better than expected with his liquid intake and his fever was manageable, so we were able to get discharged after only 3 days! Dr. Prutsok came in to asses Ryder around 11am and by noon we were breaking out of jail....I mean CHOC!
What did you say mama?
Did I hear you right? I get to go home?
First things first - let's get this IV off ASAP!
While waiting for our discharge papers, we decided to take one last loop around the hospital, for memory sake.
We are SO excited to finally be going home! Let's load up the car!
Ryder checking out his no-no's on the drive home (I only had the heart to put them on one arm).
Some Chester lov'n.
Home sweet home! Now it's time to catch up on some much needed sleep.
*Side note - those arm cast looking things are called "no-no's". Since Ryder puts EVERYTHING in his mouth, he has to wear these to avoid causing damage to his palate, post surgery. There's also tons of germs on his hands so they're important to help avoid infection while his mouth is healing. He's supposed to wear them 24:7 but we don't have the heart for that so we only make him wear them while he sleeps (and that's tough enough). We'll see how long these no-no's actually last....
