Surgery Prep

Today, Ryder had to get some labs drawn as well as give a urine sample in preparation for his palate surgery next Friday. We had to do this exact same thing when he was 3 months old, prior to his lip surgery. It's NOT fun and I absolutely LOATHE every second of it.

All things considered it went well but we still had quite the morning trying to get him to sit still while giving 3 vials of blood and then trying to capture a urine sample - let's just say we had to be creative.

Walking into the doctor's office....
Why am I sitting here mama? I just woke up.
Wait! I've been here before and I don't think I like it!
Which arm......
My right one looks good....
Wait! It doesn't look good!!!
NOOO!
We hate this just as much as he does.
Help me!
Look at all of that blood!
Much better....I'm with mama and she's reading me a book.
Matching arm bands - daddy had to get some blood work done, too.
To cheer Ryder up we drove down to San Diego and took him to Sea World. He loved pointing out the polar bears.
Best seat in the house.
The South Pole (obviously).
Penguin exhibit.
Happy feet!
Beluga whales.
They can't eat me right, daddy?
Waiting for the Sea Lion show to start...
Watching the show.
Mommy and daddy bought me a polar bear to make me feel better. I named him "Pokey"
I also got this cool hat...
Had a good time meeting Elmo and Ernie. Elmo gave me a kiss and Ernie, a high five!
Then I knocked out with Pokey on the drive home.
When I got home, I introduced Pokey to my soccer ball and Cocky.....and then I fell asleep.
